Petter Northug (NOR) took his second victory within 24 hours in the today's 30 km Mass start World Cup competition in the classical style. The 23-year-old Norwegian finished in a time of 1:22:55h, 0,7 seconds ahead of Alexander Legkov (RUS). The third place took Maxim Vyleghzanin, 0,9 seconds behind the winner Northug.
On the demanding 12 x 2,5 km course in Rogla where 13 athletes finished within 10 seconds. During the race, the competitor where also fighting after each 7, 5km for bonus World Cup points at intermediate sprints.
For Northug it was the third World Cup victory in this season while Alexander Legkov and Maxim Vyleghzanin are for the second time after Kuusamo (FIN) on the podium in this season.
Petter Northug increased his lead in the overall World Cup to 440 points, 240 points ahead of his team mate John Kristian Dahl. On third position is now Alexander Legkov with 187 points in total.
