For the first time after 1993, Slovenia will host a Viessmann FIS Cross-Country World Cup the upcoming weekend. In Rogla, a tourism resort at 1.500m above the sea level, the athletes will fight for the next World Cup points.
Cross-Country Skiing is very famous in Rogla as the venue is situated 300 meters from sport center and Rogla Climatic Spa and offers various kinds of trails designed for different levels of competitions and tourists.
Thanks to some snowfall and cold weather in the past days, the OC of Rogla was able to receive the green light last Thursday for their first World Cup event. At lot of preparation has been done for a great World Cup weekend in a spectacular atmosphere. The Slovenian skiers have themselves done perfect promotion for this event with the third place of Vesna Fabjan in Düsseldorf and the victory of the sprint queen Petra Majdic in Davos last Sunday.
On the competition schedule this weekend there are a sprint in classical technique on Saturday and the first Mass start event of the season over 15km (ladies) and 30 km (men) in classical technique on Sunday. Besides that, the OC provides a various program with side events and an exhibition area. Come and join the snow festival in Rogla!
