PARK CITY, UT (Dec. 9) – World champion Todd Lodwick (Steamboat Springs, CO) will lead the field in a Continental Cup Nordic Combined event this weekend at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City and Soldier Hollow near Midway, UT. The two days of competition are critical for athletes vying for spots on the U.S. Ski Team.
Lodwick used the event a year ago for his comeback after retirement, launching him into a season that would bring the Steamboat Springs native a pair of World Championship titles. He led a U.S. podium sweep of the opening international event a year ago.
Competition begins each day with the ski jumping portion of the combined on the big hill at the Utah Olympic Park at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Action then shifts to Soldier Hollow at 2 p.m. for the 10K cross country race which will determine the winner each day.
Lodwick will then join the World Cup circuit next weekend in Austria.
