First ski on the season's first snow in the Lower Peninsula?

Hap Wright reports that he cross country skied west of Gaylord on Friday!

Somewhere West of Gaylord (Gaylord)
Can't believe that someone in the Gaylord area hasn't been out there. Anyway, skied for 1 1/2 hrs. west of Gaylord. Good, lake effect snow, although ground umderneath isn't frozen. Was snowing, medium intensity flurries when I left about 2:30. Will try Gaylord Country Club tomorrow in a.m. Nice to be on snow!
