US Nordic Combined team skips Kuusamo

KUUSAMO, Finland (Nov. 28) - The World Cup nordic combined season kicked off Saturday in Kuusamo, Finland, with Jason Lamy Chappuis of France winning the event. Hannu Manninen of Finland was second and Eric Frenzel of Germany.

The U.S. Ski Team skipped the opener as a part of its Olympic year training strategy and will join the circuit next week in Norway.
