Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club, located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario is seeking candidates to fill a year-round coaching position. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the club’s racing program head coach, and will develop and implement a coaching model appropriate to a full service Nordic ski club. In addition, the incumbent will provide mentorship, direction and support to the club’s base of volunteer coaches. On an annualized basis, this position represents a half-full-time commitment (i.e., approximately 1000 hours/yr), with the bulk of the commitment occurring during the winter months.
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
Starting base salary is $28,000 per year with benefits amounting to 7% base salary. As this position is to some extent self-funding, the Club will entertain increases to this base salary as growth in programming that is attributable to the incumbent’s success permits. As this is a new position, we feel that there are many opportunities to build and grow towards that end.

The Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club promotes cross country skiing in the city of Sault Ste. Marie by operating and maintaining a 50 km ski trail system within the city limits. It also provides opportunities for all members of the community to learn to ski, and to continue to enjoy skiing as a life-long activity through its many programs; both competitive and recreational.
