Oberhofer Skitunnel opens

A new ski tunnel will open this summer: In Oberhof (GER), where the 4th edition of the Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Craft Sportswear will kick off on 1st January 2010, the first ski tunnel in Germany is now finished and the test period will begin.

The 14.5 million Euro project includes a 1.9 km long Cross-Country track with up- and downhills up to a 12% grade.

In the next eight weeks the entire infrastructure will be tested as well as snow quality and atmospheric environment. The official opening is planned for 24th August but already from the beginning of July the venue will be used by the German top athletes. From the end of August, the tunnel will also be open for the public.
