Hello Friends of TART,
Smart Commute Week starts on Monday! We have 62 teams signed up in the Commuter Cup Challenge which is an all time record!
The goal of Smart Commute Week is to showcase, promote and encourage alternative transportation options in Traverse City. Choose your mode: walk, bike or share a ride next week. There are many activities planned including free breakfasts all over town, yoga, massages, geocaching, hula hooping demonstrations, free bus rides, free carpool parking and MORE!
Live too far to bike or walk? Try out one of our Smart Lots to park for the day and complete your commute via the 'smart' mode of your choice. Also check BATA for the bus schedules or sign up on NMRide.net to join a northern Michigan database for carpool connections.
We've had a quite a bit of good publicity about the event are expecting record numbers this year! For more details and for the Smart Commute Week activity schedule, please check out our website!
Hope to see the TART family out and about next week... breakfast is on us!
See you there,
Missy
PS. For those of you doing gardening and landscaping projects this weekend, we have an overflow of woodchips at the Vasa Pathway trailhead off Bartlett Road. They are available for free to anyone who wants them. The wood chips are located on a short two-track located behind the warming hut. Please get the chips before the end of June as we will be putting up a chain to block access to the area.
