The Cross Country Ski Headquarters won the Michigan Cup for the third year in a row - their fourth win since 2004. The Headquarters went into the Michigan Cup Relays with a small lead over Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop. Fielding 26 relay teams, the Headquarters ensured their overall victory by overhelming all the other teams with superior numbers of skiers. Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop ended up second overall.
In a surprise to many, Traverse City Nordic took the Brumbaugh Cup for the most powerful team on the 2009 Michigan Cup circuit. Most skiers thought Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop would take the Brumbaugh Cup this year, but they were again relegated to second place.
Congratulations to the Cross Country Ski Headquarters and Traverse City Nordic!
