A party of thanks and appreciation for the work of the groomers at Huron Meadows will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Huron Meadow’s clubhouse. This party will be an opportunity for all members of the Nordic skiing community to show their thanks to those who did all the hard work this last winter at Huron Meadows.
Think back to all the great skiing you had at Huron Meadows. Who do you have to thank for that? The answer is; it’s the people who were out grooming every day and night to make sure the trails were in perfect condition. Obtaining the excellent conditions we had this winter doesn’t come easily. It requires 8-10 hours to perfectly groom all of the trails at Huron Meadows. Often, much of this work was done in the middle of the night, while the rest of us were fast asleep in our warm beds.
This is skiers’ opportunity to let the folks who performed all this hard know that their effort did not go unnoticed. The staff at Huron Meadows went above and beyond their job requirements in providing us with the best possible grooming for snow conditions.
So, here’s the program. On April 11, 2009 we will gather in the meeting room inside the clubhouse at Huron Meadows. We have the room reserved for 2 hours. Staff and Metropark officials will be present while we share ski stories, have fun, and bestow our thanks upon the groomers. A small emolument of our thanks will be given to staff.
There will be food; pizza and subs, and drink (no alcohol provided, though there will be alcohol for purchase at the clubhouse).
A donation of $5 from each individual will be needed to offset the purchase of food, and a plaque. Please RSVP by April 9th no later than 6:00p.m. so that we may have an accurate head count for food. RSVP to Ken Roth at [email protected].
Please make your best effort to attend. After all the great days we had at Huron Meadows this winter, this is the least we can do!
