Here's an interesting contest I thought you'd want to know about... - Mike
January 23, 2009 (Toronto, ON) - Ok race fans on the eve of the FIS World Cup in Otepaeae, Estonia and following the success of our Fantasy FIS Tour de Ski 2008.09 Contest we welcome all national and international contestants to the world's first SkiTrax Fantasy FIS World Cup 2009 Contest - now live for team registration.
Here's How it Works
With 15 races left on the World Cup Calendar anything can happen so choose your team of four (4) men, and four (4) women carefully including two (2) Outlaw Skiers - one (1) male and one (1) female not in the top 15 of the FIS World Cup overall rankings. All menus are available to register your team. We revised our original plan and have provided the Outlaw Skier menus now, not after Otepaeae, allowing contestants more flexibility to complete their team registration.
Deadlines, Points, Prizes
The deadline to register your team and team name, or to make changes, is 6 pm EST on Jan. 29 - the day before the Rybinsk WCup where the USA's Kikkan Randall won sprint gold in Dec. 2007. We've added some unique bonus points this time such as Liberec Points, Nations Cup Points etc. - all contest rules and info are available at skitrax.com.
Points will be awarded following each World Cup and the 2009 Liberec Nordic Worlds based on each skier's performance and published periodically so you can follow your team's progress after each World Cup and see how you compare with other players.
We are still finalizing our prize list as many companies are currently displaying at the OR and SIA trade shows but we've confirmed that Fischer, Rossignol, Sun Mountain Lodge, Swix, SkiGo and Auclair are on board.
Who will win the 2009 Veissmann XC World Cup? Who will be the top North American male and female, and the winners of the best young skier awards? Register your team today so while you're picking winners you can also be eligible to win fabulous prizes in the SkiTrax Fantasy FIS World Cup 2009 Contest.
Good luck to all contestants and visit skitrax.com for more contest details.
