To make it easy for the viewers and spectators to identify the current leaders - the overall and sprint ranking leader - of the Tour de Ski, FIS spent considerable effort to re-design the Tour leader bibs.
New this year, the current overall Tour leader will wear a Viessmann Red Tour Leader Bib. And the current Sprint Ranking leader will carry a Black Tour Sprint Leader Bib.The colors and the clean design were selected to ensure that everybody could easily differentiate the yellow bib worn by the Viessmann FIS Cross-Country World Cup leader.
As no World Cup points are awarded during the Tour de Ski, the yellow bibs are held by Aino Kaisa Saarinen (FIN) for the ladies for the entire duration of the Tour de Ski. On the men's side, Ola Vigen Hattestad (NOR) is leading the overall World Cup but he will be not at the start of the Tour de Ski.
