To increase your excitement and bring you into Tour spirit, advance information from inside the Tour family will be communicated through the Tour blogs. Joining Tour Father Vegard Ulvang, blogger already last year, is Pierre Mignerey - head coach of the French Team - along with Charlotte Kalla and Pietro Piller Cottrer, who are going to report regularly just before and during the event. In advance thank you to Charlotte, Pietro and Pierre!
Today we have the pleasure to introduce the first blog of the last year's Tour de Ski Winner Charlotte Kalla:
I am home in Tärendö to celebrate Christmas, and I am free from skiing for the first weekend in a very long time. It feels a little unusual to follow the WC competitions from the sofa instead of being in the middle of it! So I have been bouncing, jumping and screaming at home instead. It has been very thrilling and inspiring to follow my teammates advancing in Düsseldorf, and I was extra happy about Mia Eriksson's offensive skiing, WOW!

Ski veteran Pietro Piller-Cottrer, who had his 34th birthday on Saturday, has also started to blog on the Tour website:
I decided to skip the Duesseldorf sprint races and stayed home last weekend to have a really hard and intensive week of training. Now I just finished my Christmas shopping - which is even harder than the intensive training ;-) It is nice to stay at home together with my family and enjoy the holidays. That gives me a lot of strength.
For me, speaking about the Tour favorites it is not so easy.

Team Selections are now done
For the French one, we had to wait until the last World Cup and Continental Cup week-end to make our final choice. In the end, we will fill our men quotas with 4 distance athletes and 3 sprinters. However, no women will be starting the Tour: some are sick while others are not yet ready for an event of this magnitude.
