Royal Oak bike activitsts push for safer roads

Show you support for cycling in Royal Oak I am encouraging you to come out to show your support for the Royal Oak "Non-Motorized Transportation Plan" that would create a safer pedestrian and bikeway program for the city. Tom Regan will be presenting the idea to 3 policy making bodies in Royal Oak in the next couple of months.

You can show your support for the creation of a plan by attending 1 of 3 city meetings where it will be presented. Below are meeting details (the first meeting was already held on the 10th):

• Nov. 19th at 4PM at City Hall Royal Oak School Board.
• Dec. 11th at 7PM at 1123 Lexington Blvd, Royal Oak.

Royal Oak was #1 in Oakland county for car/bicycle accidents according to Michigan traffic crash facts, http://www.michigan trafficfacts.org/. The most recent tragedy was the death of Jacqueline Robinson killed while riding her bike to work on 12mile and Woodward. So even if you are not a Royal Oak resident ride your bike or walk on over to attend one or all of these meeting to show your support and let Royal Oak know that we are all very interested in supporting a non-motorized transportation plan in the city of Royal Oak.
