Washtenaw Ski Touring Club meeting dates

The chill in the air at the beginning of fall reminds us that our winter ski season will soon be on us. The Board, Officers and Committees of the Washtenaw Ski Touring Club have been busy developing a WSTC ski calendar and meeting schedule and planning for potlucks, hikes, waxing parties, etc.
Our Secretary, Ed Steinman, has been updating the website with all the details you will need to keep totally informed this ski season.
Our very capable Treasurer, Dan Sell, is sending checks hither and yon for MDSC dues, trip deposits, meeting hall rentals, etc.
Carole Hann graciously agreed to be Trip Coordinator for the 2008-2009 ski season. The calendar is in place and can be accessed on the WSTC website. We are bringing back many of your favorite trips, and are adding some new ideas, including an instructional trip.
We surveyed many of you last season around the new meeting place, Hathaway's Hideaway. Comments were pretty evenly distributed pro and con for Hathaway’s and the Kerrytown Concert House. This became a moot discussion when we were unable to match our calendar with Hathaway’s schedule. We couldn’t go to Hathaway’s without scheduling during Thanksgiving week and Christmas week. December 16: Ski/ski equipment swap

February 17: Business Meeting
Year-end potluck TBD.
As always, we'll start the socializing at 7 PM and the Business Meeting will begin at 7:30. Dan Cutler is organizing an excellent schedule of speakers for this season.
Ron Sell is suggesting a waxing party on one of the Tuesdays in November or December when we are not meeting at KCH. These events will be announced at the first meeting and will be e-mailed to this e-mail group.
We need a Hike Coordinator for this season. The coordinator will solicit hike leaders and send e-mail announcements 3-4 days before the hike stating leader, location, time, directions and any other pertinent information. Please consider volunteering for this position.
Please join us for the Annual Potluck and Hike Sunday November 9 at Independence Lakes (check club website for map and directions). Come at 2 PM to hike through the park or join us at 4 PM with a dish to pass and beverage of choice. Bring a check to sign up for membership (new or renewal). Bring a friend to introduce to our wonderful group of lovers of the outdoors.
Meetings are every other Tuesday. Socializing and trip signups begin at 7:00 and the meeting begins at 7:30pm, at the:
