The Friday Fall Clinic VO2 Max testing: what will you get? Accurate threshold levels, individual training intensity levels, oxygen utilization efficiency, and detail results. CXC Executive Director Yuriy Gusev and CXC Elite Team Bryan Fish have reviewed better than 350 of these tests in the last 3 years, and have invested great effort into study to ensure they can read test results effectively. They test CXC Elite Team athletes 6 times per year and CXC Junior Development Program athletes 3 times a year to witness progression and use the results to steer training.
VO2 vs. Lactate Levels
VO2 is much more functional then lactate because it is measured breathe by breathe versus 6-10 data points that need to be extrapolated. Secondly, and most important, it displays the contribution of aerobic and anaerobic where lactate is a measure that combines the two. We use lactate testing for measuring and monitoring interval intensity and recovery rate. Overall fitness is monitored through VO2.
Skiers who participate in Friday's optional VO2 testing will get details results and individualized training intensity levels.
Openings are still available for Friday Oct 10's VO2 testing and for the Technique Clinic on Saturday and Sunday, October 11-2. Details:
