A quick update on some summer biathlons:
Aug 9: Ethan Allen Range Roll, V2 Rollerski Series Race #2.
Biathletes Bill Bowler and Lanny Barnes win the Ethan Allen Range Roll, V2 Rollerski Series Race #2. US Biathlete, Lanny Barnes (Durango, Colorado) edged Jennifer Wygant (Lake Placid, NY) by 1.7 seconds to take victory. The two athletes were on evenly matched V2 850s donated to NENSA by V2/Jenex rollerskis.
US Biathlon Development Team member Bill Bowler, racing on the NENSA V2 850 rollerskis outpaced two competitors on their own skis and the rest of the field to win the mens race.
Aug 10: Ethan Allen Range Roll
Today Mother Nature was kind: the sun was out for most of the race, the roller ski track began to dry out and the athletes were able to charge hard around the course. For some it was the final effort in a week long biathlon camp taking place at the Ethan Allen Firing Range. Their effort was no less diminished however, despite this being their 3rd race in 5 days. Results.
Aug. 12: Oil Creek Summer Biathlon
The Sims family hosted the 3rd Annual Oil Creek State Park Summer Biathlon outside of Rouseville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 9. Fifty-one athletes competed…making this the largest field in the three-year history of the event. Results.
