The 2008 USBA Summer Biathlon National Championships and World Championship Team Trials are just over six weeks away. The Pennsylvania Biathlon Club will host the event at the Whitetail Preserve in Luzerne County, July 18-20.
Entry forms must be postmarked by July 3 (one month from today). So, if you intend to compete, you should get your entry form in the mail as soon as possible. I’ve attached all entry information to this email. If you have any difficulty downloading or printing this information, please contact me and I’ll mail or fax the information to you. You can also download this information at the Pennsylvania Biathlon Club website (www.pabiathlon.org) or the United States Biathlon Association website www.usbiathlon.org.
Also, just to give you a heads-up… If you think you will be a contender to qualify for the world championships, you should come to the trials prepared to commit to going to worlds or decline your nomination in the event you would qualify. That means that if you do not already have a current passport, you should apply for one IMMEDIATELY so that you can bring your passport information with you to the trials. You can get passport application information at the United States Department of State website: http://www.travel.state.gov/index.html
At the world championships, the schedule is as follows:
The team’s likely travel dates for worlds would be a departure on or about on Friday, September 19 and a return on or about Sunday, September 28.
