Calumet, MI-With close to four feet of snow in the woods, a base of over 18 inches, and more snow falling today, the Swedetown Trails in Calumet, MI are more than ready for this year’s Great Bear Chase Ski Race. Groomers and volunteers have been hard at work to ensure that the course for this year’s race is in top form. Festivities begin on Saturday with the Junior Bear Chase. Junior racers will find classic and freestyle races ranging from ½ K to 5K. Sunday will find racers lining up for the 50K and 25K freestyle events and the 25K classic. Over 500 racers are expected this year and all will be treated to shower facilities and a fresh UP pasty in the CLK Middle School Gym immediately following the race.

Registration fees for the Great Bear Chase are $45 through March 11 and $50 on March 12, the Saturday before the race, no race day registration is allowed.
