Kanaby, Patterson, Hallstrom and Brennan win Muffin Race

It was the 16th running of the Cross Country Ski Headquarters "Muffin Race", a duathlon featuring a 4km classic leg followed immediately by a 4km skate leg.
In the J2 girls division (13 and under), Toria Kanaby won the duathlon in a combined time of 37:27. Kanaby was first in the classic leg and 4th in the freestyle. Heidi Schwab was second in 39:21, finishing 3rd in the classic and first in the skate, with Kristina Kamm 3rd in 40:57.
Lars Hallstrom won the boys J2 division in 40:56, having both the fastest J2 boy's classic and freestyle legs. Kevin Simono and Nathan Showalter finished second and third in 44:33 and 53:32.
Kaitlyn Patterson edged out Hannah Meachum for first place in the girls J1 division (ages 14-19). Patterson had the fastest classic leg and Meachum the fastest freestyle leg, but it was Patterson on top by 15 seconds, 28:13 to 28:28. Just behind them in third was Maria Frick in 28:59.
Mac Brennan's fastest skate time and third fastest classic leg allowed him to win the J1 male division. His combined time of 22:08 was 11 seconds faster than Ross Williams. Williams had the fastest classic time and second fastest skate time. Brendan Baic was third, just 21 seconds behind Williams.
