Calumet, MI: Winter is alive and well in the Keweenaw Peninsula as preparations are in high gear for the 25th annual Great Bear Chase. Although most of the Midwest struggled through warming temps last week, the Swedetown Trails in Calumet, MI came through the warm spell in great shape. The snow is still well over two feet deep in the woods and over 6 inches of fresh snow this week brought our trails back to excellent conditions. With a little more than a month before the race everything is shaping up for another excellent weekend of racing.
Registration fees go up February 11 so don’t hesitate to sign up for this year’s Great Bear Chase. Registration forms, race details, and a link to web-based registration are available at www.keweenawtrails.com.
We hope you will join us this year for what will surely be another great Great Bear Chase.
The 25th Annual Great Bear Chase is sponsored by Cross Country Skier Magazine, The Daily Mining Gazette, Cross Country Sports, and Hammer Gel.
