Port Crescent State Park will host a “GO-Get Outdoors” candlelight cross-country ski night on Saturday, Feb. 16.
Approximately 1.5 miles of the groomed cross-country ski trail will be illuminated by 6 p.m. for night time skiing. Skiers may warm up around a bonfire and sip hot cocoa, provided by the park. Other refreshments, prepared by Chef Pam Gabriel, will be available.
Participants may also take a ride in a horse drawn sleigh, complete with sleigh bells. There is a $1charge for each person per ride.
Anyone interested in this event should call the park for trail conditions up to and including the day of the event. This event may be cancelled due to lack of snow or adverse weather conditions. All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for resident annual and $6 for resident daily. A non-resident annual is $29 and a non-resident daily is $8.
