
WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. - Senior Adam Airoldi led a small contingent of Michigan Tech men that opened the 2007-08 Nordic ski season at the West Yellowstone Distance Super Tour Races. The Everson, Wash., native finished 40th in the 15k classic race in a time of 41:42.1.
Junior Steve Pribyl was just over a minute back as he finished in 42:30.0 for 55th place. Senior Kevin Heglund finished 62nd (43:10.3) while junior Adam Joda finished 69th (43:50.5).
Heglund was also the top finisher for Michigan Tech in the sprint competition. He completed the 944m course in 3:34.4. Unfortunately, his preliminary time did not qualify him for the quarterfinal heats.
Sophomore Charlie Keller posted a preliminary time of 3:39.0 and Pribyl finished in a time of 3:48.2.
No team scores were kept.
The Huskies will return to action Dec. 1 when they travel to Marquette, Mich., to take part in the UP Collegiate Opener.
