I wanted to let you know of a unique opportunity for adult ski racers of all ability levels. In May of 2008, Sten Fjeldheim, head ski coach at Northern Michigan University, and I will be coaching an on-snow, masters’ training camp in beautiful Sognefjell, Norway.
Participants will be treated to some of the best off-season skiing in the world as well as excellent meals, traditional Norwegian accommodations, and breathtaking scenery. Sten and I have worked together coaching adult ski racers for ten years. We offer our skiers proven training plans and the latest technique information straight from the world’s best skiers. We will provide expert technical analysis which will help each camper become a more efficient, fluid skier. And Sten’s unique sense of humor and storytelling will keep you laughing all week!
A native of Haugesund, Norway, Sten Fjeldheim has coached dozens of NCAA All Americans and national champions, and was an athlete and coach for the US Ski Team. I worked as an assistant to Sten from 1997 to 2000. Both Sten and I hold master’s degrees in exercise science from Northern Michigan University.
Sten and I will be assisted by my assistant coach, Ingrid Olson. An excellent skier in her own right, Ingrid is also a strength and conditioning specialist. This camp will be limited to 21 participants for a maximum 7:1 athlete to coach ratio. Licensed physical therapist Denise Jerome will lead stretching sessions and balance drills, and will be available for individual PT consultations.
The camp will be held May 20 – 29, 2008. We will enjoy nine nights at Sognefjellshytta Tourist Hotel and eight days of fantastic skiing on the snowfields. The trails literally begin right out the door of the hotel.
If you are interested in learning more about this unique skiing opportunity please drop me an e-mail with your mailing address and telephone number ([email protected]).
Best wishes for a fun and rewarding ski season.
Sincerely,
Scott Jerome
