Hello fellow Nordic Skiers,
By now I hope, most if not all of, you have heard about Northern Illinois Nordic hosting a CXC roller ski clinic. The event will be run by CXC coaches, and a few athletes are working on attending too. Illinois' very own Luke Peters is working on being in attendance. His resume is impressive for a Junior not to mention for a guy from Illinois.
The clinic will cover Skate technique: V-1, V-2 and V-2 alternate. They will be teaching the technique that our current regional, national, and Olympic athletes are currently using. The National Team has been refining their technique w/ the use of a treadmill ski trainer using Vo2 max, lactate and video analysis, in addition to sharing (learning) information w/ other national team coaches. This is an exciting time for our US Nordic ski team and we will be able to be a part of it in our own small way.
Where/When:
The clinic will be in Rockford, Il. on Nov. 3rd and in Wheaton, Il. on Nov. 4th. The Wheaton event will be at Danada woods forest preserve. We will meet in the equestrian parking lot across from the forest preserve headquarters at 8:30am the clinic will be from 9a-1pm. All roller skis are welcome. We will have lime stone trails and asphalt available for teaching. There is a hill or two scouted out for work on v-2.
