It was another beautiful day to race at Sunday's North American Vasa Classic
Weston Willoughby (47:06) won the Lombard Loppet 15k Classic. Edward Roe (47:58) was second, with Grand Rapids Nordic's Dennis Paull (48:13) third.
Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop teammates Rebecca Davis (57:05) and Mary Schlimmer-Willoughby (59:08) took first and second in the 15k classic, followed by Dana Pflughoeft (1:00:20) in third.
Rebecca Davis and Aaron Ditty were crowned the Queen and King of the 2026 North American Vasa as the top skiers over the weekend. Davis took 3rd in Saturday's 27k and 15K classic on Sunday on Sunday put her on top. Ditty won on Saturday and took 4th in the Lombard Loppet 15k Classic, just 13 seconds behind third place.
The Mark Esper 6k Classic counted as Michigan Cup points for juniors.
Bode Dykstra (20:19) was the top skier, followed by Solomon Debruyn (20:38) and Harrison Jeffries (21:13)
Lindsay Smith (23:08) narrowly beat Avery Kelly (23:11) for the win, with Emma Dykstra (23:16) just behind in third.
The 6k citizen's race was won by Jim Mowry (32:44). Gary Kaleita (40:16) was second and Ernest Brumbaugh (42:43) finished third.
For the women, Carole Mueller-Brumbaugh (35:51) beat Tove Shere (35:52) and Linda Kaleita (36:32) for first.
