The Family Davis: MI Cup Classic Champions at Hanson Hills

It was downright balmy at Hanson Hills Recreation Area, site of the 2026 Hanson Hills Classic / Michigan Cup Classic Championships - mid-teens - compared to the low single digits at the Forbush Freestyle Championships the day before. The course was in awesome shape!

Rebecca Davis (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) took her second win of the weekend - her third win this year - finishing first in 45:20, almost 8 minutes ahead of second place finish Elizabeth Callison (University of Michigan) in 53:23. (Davis and Callison finished 1-2 in Freestyle Championships as well). Deanna Spencer (Cross Country Ski Headquarters) took third in 54:17.

The other Davis - Michael (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) - made it a family day by also finishing first for the men in 38:36. He beat the local favorite - Jorden Wakeley (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) - by over a minute. Wakeley finished second in 39:45. Eric Parrott (Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team) took third in 41:39.
