Well, another Winter has come and gone. If you skied at Huron Meadows Metropark in Brighton, now is the time to get together and thank the people who made it a success. IT’S BACK! The Groomer Appreciation/End of Season party!
After a two year COVID-19 hiatus, we’re back on the schedule, noon, April 2nd at the Huron Meadows Clubhouse. This is our opportunity to thank the people who worked so hard to give us excellent skiing all Winter: making snow, spreading snow, grooming snow, setting tracks. This year there will be an extra thank you for purchasing the Tornado! What a game changer that’s been.
And thanks to the groomers for creating the race courses for the Frosty Freestyle and Krazy Klassic race, and having great tracks for our kids skiing classes and race!
In addition to thanking the people who make the skiing possible, and general socializing, the highly coveted Golden Hamster Wheel award is back! We’re also going to do some Team NordicSkiRacer-specific awards.
It’s potluck, so please bring a dish to pass, regardless of how simple or store bought it may be, or a drink to share (no alcohol may be brought into the park). I’ll provide some basic pizzas and beverages. The event will be at the Huron Meadow's Clubhouse, April 2nd at noon.
There may be folks who aren’t ready to get together in person. For those people, if you want to just give a quick knock on the door to say hello and let your voice be heard, that would work as well.
Not only is this a chance to say thanks, it’s also a way to show the power of our numbers. This event has always been well attended and that speaks volumes to the park staff/directors who also attend, and they will be in attendance. One of the reasons the park committed to purchasing expensive equipment is that they know we support the program. It’s important to show we care!
For those who plan to attend, please RSVP to [email protected]. If you don’t RSVP and want to attend that’s ok too, but you might end up with red klister on your skis on a cold green day!
Regards, Ken & Amy
