Haapala, Jean, Wakeley, and Davis win overall 2021 Michigan Cup

Ken Dawson, Michigan Cup's esteemed points keeper, has released this year's individual winners!
Michigan Cup Individual Champions
William Haapala wins the overall Junior Men's title with a perfect score of 1,000 points. Haapala won 6 of the 7 races he entered (he placed second in the High School Championships Sprint event). Ryan Miller and Josh Kerr are second and third. All three are members of the Vasa Ski Club.
Arielle Jean won all six events she entered to win the Junior Women's title. Annie Paulson and Jorja Jenema are second and third. All are Vasa Ski Club skiers.
A junior's best 5 races counted toward scoring.
In the senior division, only the best 4 races counted. Rebecca Davis (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) takes the Women's title with 785 points, winning one of the four races she entered. Cross Country Ski Headquarters skiers Mariah Frye Colie and Wendy Anderson take second and third.
Jorden Wakeley (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) is the Men's champion with a perfect score off 800 points. He won five of the six races he entered. The race he lost? He crashed and broke a pole - twice - in the Cote Dame Marie - his home course! Teammate Michael Davis takes second, with Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team's Steve Smigiel Junior in third.
