The 2021 North American Vasa is Cancelled

The North American Vasa Festival of Races Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel this season's planned races due to the high number of COVID cases in the community and statewide, and in light of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services most recent guidelines currently in place.

This decision was not made lightly. The Board worked diligently over the past 6 months thinking of ways to pull the event off in a way that was safe for participants, volunteers, vendors, and the community at large. At the end of the day, while it was a tough decision to make, the Board of Directors feels it is the right one with the health and safety of our community foremost in mind.

Those who have already registered will have the option to receive a refund, defer their entry fees to next year's event, or donate to the event in order to help ensure it returns next year on solid financial footing.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this celebrated event of 45 years, especially the sponsors, participants and volunteers, without whom these annual festivities on our cherished winter trails would not be possible.

The upcoming New Year and the look forward to next year’s planned event provides the promise of something truly special as a reunion for past participants and a warm welcome to anyone new to this long standing tradition.

We look forward seeing everyone back the weekend of February 12, 2022 for what will be a celebration of winter trails, competition and comradely. Stay safe, stay healthy, and have a wonderful holiday season.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please select your desired registration fee option by January 4, 2022. If you do not select and option by that date, your 2021 fee will be considered a donation to the North American Vasa organization.

If you already registered, here are your options:

1. Defer to 2020

Defer registration & merchandise order to the 2022 Vasa (Feb12 & 13, 2022).

We will transfer your registration and merchandise purchase to the new event date, and look forward to having you join us. By choosing this option, you will be taking advantage of this year's discounted fees and avoid paying the higher registration fees that we normally charge for the Vasa events. Note: If you elect to change your registration credit to a different Vasa event in 2022, you will be charged the difference between the 2021 and 2022 fee.

2. Donate

Please donate my 2021 registration and merchandise fee payment to the North American Vasa organization.

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at the 2022 Vasa. NOTE: This is the default option. If you do not select the Refund or Defer option by January 4, 2022, your payment will be donated to the NAV organization.

3. Refund

We understand. We hope you can join us next time. NOTE: The refund will not include the Run SignUp processing fee. Refunds will be processed by Run SignUp and credited to you on or about the second week of January 2022.
