CXC cancels Duluth and Mt. Itasca events

As many of you know, Governor Walz of Minnesota issued an Executive Order on COVID Mitigation, which has paused athletics in the State of Minnesota for 4 weeks. This impacts our first 2 CXC Cup events - Duluth and Mt. Itasca are not viable as scheduled.

As we said when the schedule was released, it is tentative, and it remains so. Cancel any plans you had to travel to Duluth or Coleraine on these weekends.

We had a meeting of our CXC GLD and MW Junior Leadership Councils to discuss plans going forward:

• The rest of our CXC Cup Schedule is tentative and will remain unchanged at this time.
• CXC will work with potential race organizers and look to add races back into the schedule in January, February, and/or March to replace these opportunities. As we determine new options, we will keep you informed.
• The Salomon CXC Cup will work to put together a virtual competition in Mid December for our athletes to have a chance to time trail and get a race type effort in prior to the CXC Holiday Championships and to stay motivated to train.

We know this pause has hit many of our members hard. We empathize with you and will miss seeing many of you in December. We urge each of you to stay safe and be vigilant in reducing each of your personal risks with respect to the COVID-19 Virus.

Let's hope for the best and look forward to having a season.
