Cross Country Ski Headquarters has been contacted by the wife of a Michigan Cup racer who attended the Michigan Cup Relays at Cross Country Ski Headquarters on Sunday, March 8. The racer, a 75-year-old man from Charlevoix named Ellis Boels, began to develop flu like symptoms on Tuesday, March 10th, and sought prompt medical attention. As of Thursday, March 12th, he has not been tested for the flu or for coronavirus, due to limited availability of tests in northern Michigan. This gentleman‘s wife reports that he is self-quarantining at home, and while he does have a fever, he otherwise appears to be in fairly normal health.
Cross Country Ski Headquarters will post any further updates on this situation to NordicSkiRacer.com.
