Team NordicSkiRacer.com teammates Emily Flynn and Hugh Pritchard were crowned the individual 2007 Women's and Men's Michigan Cup Champions at the Michigan Cup Relays awards ceremony on Saturday.
Hugh barely edged out teammate Steve Kuhl for the men's title. Both finished with identical point totals: 999 points each. Both won four races each. But in tie breaker rules, Hugh come out on top. Both deserve the title of champion!
Milan Baic From Traverse Nordic Ski Club was third with 996 points and two wins. Strait Strider Denny Paul was only one point behind Milan, and junior (!) Jess Smith was just one point behind Denny. Denny and Jessie won one race each.

Emily garnered 996 points across her best 5 races, winning 5 races over the season. Amy Todd from the Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team and Gussie Peterson of Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop were second and third with 984 and 980 points. Amy won two races this season.
Steve Kuhl - as close to first place as possible in the Michigan Cup - shares the ribbon with Hugh Pritchard for the fastest relay team in this year's Michigan Cup Relays. Joe Bettendorf (not pictured) did the classic leg on the team.
In Junior racing, Elliot Putman and Hannah Ciesla were the individual Michigan Cup Champions. Elliot won three races and finished the season with 990 points. Kevin Tarczon and Ross Williams finished second and third with 910 and 895 points, respectively.
Hannah (Traverse Nordic Ski Club) won seven races and had a perfect Michigan Cup score of 1,000. Second place was Kaitlyn Patterson (Cross Country Ski Headquarters) and Julie Otwell with 970 and 950 points each.

Emily Flynn not only won the overall championship, but her relay team was the fastest women's team at the Michigan Cup Relays. Relays teammates Joann Cavaletto and Mackenzie Kuhl are on Emily's left. Joann, by the way, finished 5th overall in the Michigan Cup.
