Former Michigan Cup racer Sarah Goble has made the U23 (under 23) World Championship Team and will represent the United States at the U23 Cross-Country World Ski Championships on February 28 - March 8 in Oberwiesenthal, Germany. Goble currently skis for Michigan Tech University.
Goble graduated from Petoskey High School. She was 2017 Junior Nationals All-American in the 5k Skate and 10k Skate, and two-time Michigan State champion (2014 & 2015).
More recently, she...
- Finished 19th in the 15K Classic and 20th in the 5K Skate at the 2019 NCAA National Skiing Championships
- Finished third in the 15K Classic and the 5K Skate at the NCAA Central Regional Championships
- Finished third in the 5K Skate at the CCSA Conference Championships
- Finished first in the Skate and in the 10K Classic at the NMU Open
- Finished first in the 10K Skate and second in the 5K Classic at the MTU CXC Cup
- Named Co-Most Outstanding Women’s Skier
- Named USCSCA All-Academic.
Goble qualified along with teammate Amanda Kautzer. "It's hard to even put it into words," said Goble. "It's an incredible opportunity and I think it shows how far our program has come to send two skiers to this event."
To qualify for the U23 Championships, Goble had to rank in the top five in points earned after all races at the 2020 L.L. Bean U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships.
