RESULTS: 2019 MI Cup Champs: Kyle Hanson, Jordyn Ross, Ted Roe and Arielle Jean

2019 Individual Winners of the Michigan Cup

With all the individual points races over, we can announce and congratulate the 2019 Michigan Cup Individual Champions!

• Junior women: Arielle Jean is the Junior Women's Champion with 964 points. Abigail Jean takes second with 946 points and Annie Paulson gets third with 940 points. This was a hard fought battle all season.
• Junior men: Ted Roe is Junior Men's Champion with 990 points. Ryan Miller and Ben Thuente placed second and third with 955 and 930 points)
• Senior women: Jordyn Ross (Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team) is the Senior Women's Champion with 1,000 points. Even though second-place Rebecca Davis (Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop) also had 1,000 points, Ross consistently beat Davis in head-to-head racing, giving Ross the victory. Ellie Callison took third overall with 979 points.
• Senior men: Team NordicSkiRacer's Kyle Hanson won the Senior Men's Championship with 1,000 points, just beating out Vasa Ski Club's Sam Holmes (999 points). Alex Vanias (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) managed to finish third with 998 points even after missing multiple Michigan Cup races to compete in national and international competitions, including the World Championships as a member of the Greece national team.

The Michigan Cup Team competition is heading to its final race

Vasa continues it's lead in the Michigan Cup, with only the Michigan Cup Relays left to race. Cross Country Ski Headquarters remains firmly in second place. But the Relays are going to decide who takes third: Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team and Team NordicSkiRacer are only 63 points apart!

These interim results take Ken Dawson's final individual points, using 80% of Senior Points and 20% of Junior points plus the 6 Hour Relay participation points @ 10 per participation. (Ken is the official individual points keeper; Ernie Brumbaugh tracks team points.)
