Crystal Community Ski Club host 2k junior race

Be Bold! Thirty-five Nordic Middle and High School skiers raced this past Saturday, some first time racers, at Crystal Mountain. The new Nordic ski club, Crystal Community Ski Club (CCSC), hosted a 2k classic and skate interval start junior race. Vasa Ski Club collaborated and together these two ski communities pulled off a successful event. Athletes came as far as the Roscommon ski club and Leland ski club.
It was a rolling course with the wind providing some serious resistance in the open fields. Everyone had a good time and awards and prizes were given along with pizza and hot cocoa. We can only hope this is the beginning to more junior Nordic racing and also plan to make this an annual event. We would like to thank Crystal Mountain, Vasa Ski Club, M22, Brick Wheels, and Don Orr Ski Shop for donations.
