After two races, Jordyn Ross (Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team) leads the senior women's Michigan Cup with two wins, Rebecca Davis (Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop) is in second with two seconds, and Mariah Frye (Cross Country Ski Headquarters) is third with two thirds!
Team NordicSkiRacer and the Vasa Ski club are neck-and-neck in the senior men's division. NSR's Kyle Hanson and Vasa's Sam Holmes each have a first place and a second place, for a 399 point tie. and both NSR's Jay Woodbeck and Vasa's Kevin Tarras took a third and a fourth, for 395 points each. The top four places are definitely up in the air!
Andrew Amato and Annie Paulson each lead the junior standings, with one race under their belts.
With the cancellation of the Tour de Michaywe, the next individual points race will the Frosty Fest Weekend in at Huron Meadows Metropark in Brighton Michigan, with the Frosty Freestyle on Saturday, January 12 and the Krazy Klassic on Sunday January 13. Skiers are actively training on the man-made snow loop at Huron Meadows, and organizers are hoping that a snow storm will allow the races to be run on the long full courses this season, rather than on the short artificial snow loop.
