Many people have questions about the arctic freeze that we are currently experiencing in the Heart of Pure Michigan (Grayling).
Forecasted temperatures for Saturday morning are showing in the negative teens for race start. Although many of you may be getting “cold feet”, please do not let this prevent you from missing this great event.
First and foremost, this is a great MI-CUP Social Event that happens to include skiing. My plan is to do things a little different this year.
- Event will start at the normal 10:00am time period, however skiing will be delayed until temperatures reach either negative single digits or a GROUP voted acceptable start time.
- When skiing starts we will run short loops first, and individuals will only be able to complete 1 lap at a time (vs. multiple laps before handing off). Laps will get longer as temperature goes up.
- REMEMBER MIKE!! Let us rejoice in Mike’s memory, Hanson Hills will Donate $5 per team signed up to the Michael J. Seaman Memorial Scholarship at Montcalm Community College. In addition, we will have Donation Envelopes available if you would like to make a personal donation in his honor.
- FOOD!!! With a potluck, you can only expect the best recipes and sweet treats, made by skiers for skiers!! Bring a dish to pass, the food alone is worth the trip!
On behalf of myself, and my Groomers Jason and Tommy G. we hope to see you all Saturday Morning!
