JERICHO, Vt. – Amanda Kautzer of the Michigan Tech Nordic Ski team will represent the United States at the Youth World Championships. Kautzer recently competed at the youth biathlon trials conducted by the United States Biathlon Association (USBA) December 28th through the 30th.
Kautzer qualified by placing first in the sprints by crossing the line with a time of 30:10.1. She outlasted Hannah Streinz who turned in a time of 30:52.3. Kautzer is one of four athletes to represent the U.S. at the World Championships in February.
"We are excited to have Amanda competing on a high level and having a great opportunity to represent Team USA and Michigan Tech at the World Junior Championships," Michigan Tech Head Coach Joe Haggenmiller said. "She has worked hard over many years to earn her spot on the team. We are very proud of her accomplishments and look forward to more top level racing this season."
