Vasa announces Midwest Nordic Rendezvous

We have just locked in a grand opening for the new year and the cross country ski season. A partnership of the North American Vasa, the Vasa Ski Club and the Professional Ski Instructors Association will be hosting a weekend of instructional clinics for all ages and skill levels. We are calling it the Midwest Nordic Rendezvous and it will be staged at Timber Ridge Resort on January 7-8th. We are bringing in Greg Rhodes from Colorado who is a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology and a PSIA National Team Nordic Specialist.
Mr. Rhodes is a Minnesota native, grew up cross country skiing, an All-American Nordic at Carleton College and owner of Endurance Athlete. He has a PhD in Exercise Physiology and is PSIA Certified in Nordic, Telemark, Alpine, and Snowboard. Greg has a passion for teaching and living an active lifestyle and continues to compete in various endurance athletic events, including 13 Elite Wave Birkie Classic races. He is an instructor at West Yellowstone Ski Festival and frequently speaks on Nutrition, strength training, and current trends and skills for Nordic skiing.
Events
Saturday January 7
- Three clinics will be conducted for middle and high school skiers as well as adult beginners.
- A Skier Social and Presentation will be at 5:30 pm the same day. Greg will talk about Current Trends in Technique, Nutrition and Training. The social is free to all and will include a light meal and drinks provided or BYOB.
Sunday January 8th
- Greg will conduct four clinics for Michigan Cup teams and individuals for those skiers who want to upgrade either their classic or freestyle skills. Fees for these clinics are $25 each or two for $40.
