RESULTS: Michael Davis and Rebecca Davis win Hanson Hills Classic

It was in the mid-30's with a bit of sun at the Hanson Hills 12km Classic. Part of the Meijer State Games of Michigan, the forecast had been for rain, but the downpour waited until all the racers were in.

The temperatures made waxing a bit tricky. The winners of both the men's and women's races reportedly doublepoled the course; the second place men's finisher used his Zero skis. With warm temperatures overnight, the trail was well groomed but a little soft for poling. A fine touch was needed to keep the poles from sinking too far into the snow. Racers started individually in 15 second intervals, with racers sorted by age group.

Michael Davis (Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop finished first in 44:54.1. Jay Woodbeck (Team NordicSkiRacer) was second in 45:27.1, followed by Ryan Harris (Cross County Ski Headquarters) 50:52.7).

In the women's race, Rebecca Davis skied away with the win in 53:03.5. Tracy Hardin (Strait Striders) and Cassie Johnson (Team NordicSkiRacer) were second and third in 58:56.9 and 1:04:58.
