HOUGHTON, Mich. — Volunteer registration is open for the 2016 U.S. Skiing Championships hosted by Michigan Tech at its on-campus Nordic Training Center Jan. 3-9.
The event will consist of four race days: classic distance races on Jan. 3, freestyle sprint races on Jan. 4, freestyle distance races on Jan. 7 and classic sprints on Jan. 9.
The website, NordicChampionship.org, has full race details and volunteer registration.
Volunteers are needed for race registration and check-in, at the start and finish areas, on the course to help with crowd crossing and before and after the events to set up and tear down.
With the help of a supportive community and network of volunteers, Michigan Tech has successfully hosted the U.S. Skiing Championships three times previously: 2007, 2008 and 2015.
