KNSC will not groom Maasto this year

KNSC will not groom Maasto this year. The KNSC board has decided not to groom the Maasto Hiihto ski trails this winter (2004-05). The club, the city of Hancock and certain landowners were not able to reach an agreement on land use. While discussions were ongoing, the club had run out of time to do the trail preparation work.

The club intends to resume grooming in 2005-06.

Because of this, the Heikinpaiva Hiihto will not be held this year.

The City of Hancock has indicated it may groom a portion of the trail and may seek volunteers to open the chalet, but details are not yet available.
