Northern Michigan University head Nordic skiing coach Sten Fjeldheim announced the addition of five student-athletes including four additions to the Wildcat's women's roster.
Fjeldheim announced the signing of Leo Hipp (Forrest Lake, Minn.) to the men's squad and Nicole Schneider (Plymouth, Minn.), Sarah Bezdicek (Osseo, Minn.), Sophie McDonald (Park City, Utah) and Lea Buenter (Dallenwil, Switzerland) will be competing for the Wildcat women's team.
Hipp was the Minnesota State high school champion and a top 10 skier a the 2015 US Junior Olympics.
Schneider was a top 10 skier a the Minnesota State high school championships and was a top 10 performer at the US National Junior Championships.
Bezdicek was the Minnesota State high school champion and was also top 10 at the US Junior Championships.
McDonald, who had previously signed with the NMU cross country team, finished in the top five a the US Junior Championships.
Buenter finished third in the Swiss Ski Championships this past year.
