Because of the incredible snow depth on the Ski Park (and because we refuse to let winter die), we will host the Paintball Biathlon this Saturday, March 21st! This will be a one day event, held at Cross Country Ski Headquarters and NOT at Hanson Hills (they do not have enough snow).
The race will run a little differently this year than in past years. The course will not go around the Blizzard trail, but instead go around a 250 yard "track" on the ski park area, which includes two hills and the shooting range off to the side. Skiers will race head to head with one other skier at a time, and will compete in a double elimination bracket to determine the winner. The number of laps and shooting stations are TBD and will depend on the number of participants. What is great about this course is that the whole thing is visible to spectators, so even if you don't race, it will be a very entertaining event to watch!
The Details:
We will plan on having a Citizens division and an Open division, with the Citizens race being slightly shorter and more beginner friendly. Kids are welcome and may compete in either division. Remember, this is a one day event and there is no race on Sunday.
Moral of the story? When spring comes early, JUST SAY NO.
See you this weekend!
