Kaitlyn Patterson 2nd, Alex Vanias 4th in Great Bear Chase Skiathon

In a photo finish, the Lower Peninsula's Kaitlyn Patterson was just edged out of first place in the Great Bear Chase 50K Skiathon by just four-tenths of a second by Wisconsin's Natalia Naryshikina, 3:09:59.2 to 3:09:59.6, Erica Hett from Minnesota was third in 3:22:34.6.
Chris Pappathopoulos (Wisconsin) was the top Skiathon male, winning in 2:42:15.5. Karl Walczak (California) and Andrew Brown (Minnesota) were second and third in 2:46:32.2 and 2:47:20.0. Alex Vanias was the top Lower Peninsula skier, coming in forth in 2:48:57.0.
