Bear Chase Conditions Look Great!

20+ inches of snow in the past four days has created perfect conditions for the 27th Annual River Valley State Bank Great Bear Chase.  100% of the course is in excellent condition.  Stockpiles of clean snow are waiting to be dumped on Fifth Street for the new downtown finish.

With some rerouting of trails at Swedetown this year, the races will be approximately 25K and 48K.  An updated course map and area map, including the finish route, will be available at registration and posted on the website later this week.

Registration continues this week. On-line registration closes Friday.  Registration fees are $55 through Friday and $60 in person on Saturday.  Packet pick-up and registration is 12:00-8:00 on Saturday at Cross Country Sports in Calumet.  There is NO race day registration but packet pick-up is available.  

Many additional festivities are planned for Saturday.  The Junior Bear Chase has numerous races and events available from 1:00-3:00, a Scandinavian Dance from 5:30-10:00 in the Laurium Ballroom, and the CLK Rotary Spaghetti feed from 4:00-8:00 in the Calumet High School.
