Currently, the White Pine Stampede course has a base of no more than 3" or 4" when packed. We, however, are blessed to have trail managers with many years experience in taking what we get and making it an excellent trail. With the cold weather predicted I expect the trail to again be excellent. I do however strongly recommend everyone leave the new skis in the car.
The temperature will range between low and mid teens to low and mid 20's as of the predictions from today. No snow is predicted prior to the race.
A reminder.........the Shanty Creek/Short's Brewing after race gathering will kick off at 1:30 PM. Along with the mashed potato bar and Short's beer specials we will have the annual slide show of the events of the day; Moosejaw raffle and musical entertainment.
Should you have further questions I can be reached at [email protected]. Check the the trail reports at http://www.NordicSkiRacer.com as well.
Again, I look forward to meeting our first time entrants and seeing our veterans.
Entries will be accepted within 45 minutes of your selected race, as well as Friday until 8:00 PM. A small hint: because of the screwy weather I suggest you call the race office and enter by phone - (231) 587-8812 as we are expecting a large last minute rush.
