Bah Humbug! It was coal in the stockings of lower peninsula Michigan skiers, with little or no snow to take advantage of over the holiday season. And the days after Christmas are not encouraging: mostly rain, warm weather, and maybe a little lake effect in the northern snow belts but no real snow accumulation.
We started out the season with a bang in November, setting snow records and making for a great start for the season. But most reporting cities show we're now below average for the year:
The upper peninsula has done better, with more snow and cooler temperatures:
Clearly, we are in need Elsa, the Princess of Arendelle. With her cryokinetic powers, she can produce ice, frost, and snow at will. Better than the best snow guns, she could cover the lower peninsula with enough snow to keep all skiers happy.
When I contacted Disney, I was told Elsa was unavailable. But Elsa has a Facebook page. Please go to there and ask Elsa to come to Michigan!
