The Professional Ski Instructors of America (Central Division) will hold training, workshops, exam prep and Level 1 and Level exams at Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs the weekend of December 6 and 7. Most of the classes are two days, but there is a one-day class on Saturday December 6 as well. Cross Country – CC1001D- Instructor Training/Workshop One Day (Dec 6 only)
What: Event focusing on fine tuning your skiing skills, teaching skills and technical knowledge.
Why: An opportunity to enhance skiing, teaching and technical fundamentals for instructors and coaches of all experience levels. Can also be taken as a prep for the Level 1 exam.
How: This event includes personal skiing improvement, with instruction in all cross country techniques, teaching strategies, teaching progressions and risk awareness.
PSIA Cross Country – CC100 – Two-Day Instructor Training/Workshop (Dec 6-7)
What: Event focusing on fine tuning your skiing skills, teaching skills and technical knowledge. Two-day class.
Why: An opportunity to enhance skiing, teaching and technical fundamentals for instructors and coaches of all experience levels. Can also be taken as a prep for the PSIA Level 1 exam.
How: This event includes personal skiing improvement, with instruction in all cross country techniques, teaching strategies, teaching progressions and risk awareness.
Cross Country – CC180 – Level 1 Exam
What: The Level 1 exam is the first step in the certification process. This two day event gives instructors and coaches an opportunity to have their skiing, teaching and technical skills evaluated relative to the PSIA National Standards for Level 1 certification. The candidate will receive a written evaluation at the end of the event.
Why: The Level I exam gives the candidate an opportunity to learn collaboratively with the PSIA-C education staff as well as the other candidates. Also an opportunity to expand your teaching options. All certification candidates must take and pass the Level I exam.
How: The Level 1 exam is a combined clinic and evaluation of your teaching and skiing skills. The Level 1 workbook must be completed prior to taking the exam. For more detailed information, see the “Cross Country Level 1 Exam Overview” available on the PSIA-C website. This is a two day event.
Cross Country – CC280 – Level 2 Exam
What: Candidates will be evaluated on whether their skiing, teaching and technical knowledge meet the PSIA National Standards for Level 2 certification. The candidate will receive a written evaluation at the end of the event.
Why: The Level 2 exam gives the candidate an opportunity to learn collaboratively with the PSIA-C education staff as well as the other candidates. To further your certification to meet PSIA Level 2 standards.
How: The Level 2 exam is a combined clinic and evaluation of your teaching and skiing skills. The Level 2 workbook must be completed prior to taking the exam. For more detailed information, see the “Cross Country Level 2 Exam Overview” available on the PSIA-C website. Level 2 exam prep is recommended. This is a two day event.
Cross Country – CP202 – Level 2 Exam Prep
What: Event for Level 1 instructors and coaches who want to prepare for the Level 2 exam.
Why: To increase your skiing, technical and teaching skills to prepare for Level 2 certification. You will gain a clear perspective on the level of your skiing and teaching skills relative to the National standards.
How: This event is a combined workshop clinic and an opportunity for you to demonstrate and fine tune your teaching and skiing skills. It is recommended that you complete the Level 2 workbook prior to the event. This is a two day event.

What: Event for Level 2 instructors and coaches who want to prepare for the Level 3 exam.
